Publish Open Access free of charge in more than 1.200 hybrid Wiley journals

New four-year national agreement with Wiley - from 2026-2029

Denmark has entered into a four-year national agreement with the publisher Wiley, covering reading access to their journal collection and cost-free Open Access publishing.

The number of Open Access articles that can be published in the hybrid journals covered by this national agreement has a limit of 1,252 articles per year in the four-year period. When the limit of 1,252 articles is reached authors are offered a 15% discount on the APC if you choose to publish Open Access with self-payment.

The agreement applies to accepted articles from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029.

Open Access Publishing with Wiley
As a corresponding author, you can publish Open Access free of charge in more than 1.200 hybrid Wiley journals.

This ensures immediate Open Access to the publisher's version of many Danish research publications at Wiley (with a CC-BY license). This makes it easier to comply with Open Access requirements from funding bodies and grant providers and bringing us closer to national Open Access goals.

However, for Wiley Gold Open Access journals, you will still need to pay an APC (Article Processing Charge) for publication.

To take advantage of the agreement, you must:

  • use your DTU e-mail as the corresponding author
  • state DTU (Technical University of Denmark) as your institutional affiliation
  • select Open Access to publish your article without a publication fee
  • select a CC-BY license*
