New organisation of Arctic DTU

Arctic DTU is a cross-disciplinary initiative that brings together and strengthens DTU's engagement in the Arctic. To further strengthen DTU's efforts, especially at the strategic level, DTU has chosen to organise the cross-disciplinary initiative in two tracks: one focusing on the development and operation of Campus Sisimiut, and one focusing on political and strategic efforts. The two tracks will be closely coordinated.

The new organisation of Arctic DTU will make it possible to strengthen and focus efforts both in terms of operations and in relation to the strategic goals for education, research, and innovation. This will improve efficiency and promote innovation and collaboration across DTU's Arctic activities.

In connection with the new organisation, two new positions will be created:

  • Chief Officer Arctic Campus: Who will head DTU's activities at Campus Sisimiut and be responsible for the staff at Arctic DTU. The position will be established under DTU Sustain. Employees from Arctic will report to this person and be transferred to DTU Sustain.

  • Chief Arctic Officer: This person will be responsible for Arctic DTU's strategy. The position will be established under the Department of Research, Consulting and Innovation. An administrative employee from Arctic DTU will continue to support this function and will therefore move to the Department of Research, Consulting and Innovation.

The two new positions will be available for appointment on 1 August/September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be advertised as soon as possible.

The new organisation will take effect when the new employees are hired.
