“Stop Op” – a band that never stops!

There have been a number of changes along the way. The band, which was previously called “Stop Op I Tide-Mand”, now goes by the short and precise name “Stop Op” – easy and simple to remember!

The band today consists of five experienced musicians who cherish their musical roots, which go all the way back to the swinging and rocking rhythms of the 50s, 60s and 70s. All members have played and sung in countless bands or as soloists throughout their lives.

Over the past 16 years, the band has stayed together and developed into perhaps the “South Coast”’s most well-known and well-playing orchestra. Their musical home is the theatre and music house “Portalen”, where year after year they have gathered a large audience for the popular event “Stegt flæsk og persillesovs garneret med Stop op i Tidemand”. Here, show, humour and music merge into a higher unity – and a taste can even be found on YouTube!

Musically, “Stop Op” moves in the swinging, rocking and melodious corners with songs in Danish, English and German. The audience is involved with singing and dancing, and everything is delivered with humour and high spirits. An evening with “Stop op” is an evening where you go home happy and singing!

The band is looking forward to once again creating a party in Portalen with song, joy and music. As tradition dictates, the evening can – for those who wish – begin with Portalen’s classic dish: “Stegt flæsk med persillesovs”.
