Partial opening of Anker Engelunds Vej – and future light rail plans (Lyngby)

Hopefully, many of DTU's employees and students have already noticed that the southern lane on Anker Engelunds Vej is once again open to traffic in an easterly direction.

It is very gratifying that we can now see an end to the very intrusive work at DTU that the light rail has initiated. In the near future, we will experience that the northern lane will also be reopened when the entrance to the parking lot in front of building 101 is completed - and when the road course at Henrik Dams Allé (2nd quadrant road) is changed and the entrance to Henrik Dams Allé is closed permanently.

However, there will also be closures and detours in connection with the laying of tracks, the establishment of catenary masts and overhead contact wires, which will cause inconvenience, although it is expected to be on a different scale than the nuisance we have experienced in the last few years:

  • It is expected that rails will be laid at the crossing south of Akademivej in June 2024, for a period of about a month. Access to buildings 450 and 451 is being clarified.
  • In August 2024, it is expected that the southern track on Anker Engelunds Vej will be closed for about a month for track laying where the road crosses the light rail.
  • Finally, it is expected that Akademivej will be closed in September 2024 for about a month for laying tracks at the intersection Akademivej/Asmussens Allé.
