DTU Messages

New issue of Dynamo is out now

The March issue of Dynamo magazine has been published with a special topic on how DTU is using artificial intelligence (AI) to pave the way for a more sustainable world.

Our increasing use of artificial intelligence has an impact on our environment and climate in the form of e.g., high energy and water consumption, and there are plenty of examples of AI being used to produce misinformation, for example. These less attractive aspects of AI risk overshadowing what a smart technology AI can be when used correctly.
In the latest issue of Dynamo, you can learn more about both the challenges that AI poses to the environment and climate and find examples of how DTU researchers are using AI to pave the way for a more sustainable world.
In the magazine, you can also read about how your colleagues …

… have unlocked the secrets of the mumps virus and thereby found a way to deliver medicine directly into the human brain
.... are helping companies to reuse products instead of throwing them away for the benefit of both the bottom line and the environment.
... have shown that infants benefit from having special bifidobacteria in their intestines because these bacteria produce a substance that dampens the immune system's response to allergens.
... are working to tackle the huge group of “forever chemicals”, known as PFAS substances, which are one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time.
