Offline Access to Ordbogen.com – The Digital Dictionary

DTU Students, and staff can now use Ordbogen.com’s app offline and access its full dictionary content without needing an internet connection. This makes studying, writing, and translating easier—anytime, anywhere; not the least for examens.
How to Get Offline Access
If you already have the app on your desktop:
- Open the Ordbogen.com app.
- Go to My Dictionaries and the download process will begin automatically.
- If the download does not start, open the app, go to Settings, and select Force Offline. Within a few minutes, your dictionaries will be available offline.
If you do not have the app on your desktop:
- Go to DTU Findit’s Other Search Tools: https://findit.dtu.dk/en/about/tools
- Find the link to Ordbogen.com and access the platform through this link so your DTU account is recognized.
- On Ordbogen.com’s platform, go to Download (in the upper right hand corner use the arrow) and choose the desktop application for your system: https://www-ordbogen-com.proxy.findit.cvt.dk/en/download
- Once installed, open the app and go to My Dictionaries to begin the download.
- If the download does not start, go to Settings and select Force Offline. Your dictionaries will be ready after a few minutes.
- you now have access to the dictionary from your computer, even when you're offline.

Ordbogen is a dictionary, translating terms and expressions in Danish-English/English-Danish, Danish-German/German-Danish, and in other languages. Besides language, in general, the dictionary gives very extensive coverage within technical terms as well as information technology, medicine, and law.
