Withdrawal from study programmes

If you wish to withdraw from your study programme at DTU, you must fill out a withdrawal form at student.dtu.dk under 'Study rules’/‘Withdrawal from study programmes’. You must send the filled-out form from your DTU student mail (sxxxxxx@dtu.dk) to the Study Administration at studadm@adm.dtu.dk.

Once you have sent you withdrawal form, the withdrawal cannot be cancelled.

You may not be enrolled in more than one full-time education at a time. If you are admitted to another full-time programme outside DTU, you must actively withdraw from your studies at DTU. That does not happen automatically. You need to withdraw at the latest when the new programme starts.

If you need a break and do not want to withdraw from your study programme, you can temporarily interrupt your studies by applying for a leave of absence if it is justified in special documented circumstances. If you are newly admitted to DTU and wish to withdraw from the programme in the first semester and before 30 September (summer start) and 28 February (winter start), you must withdraw by contacting the admission office:

Special rules for non-EU/EEA students with a residence permit in Denmark
If you are a non-EU/EEA fee-paying OR waiver student and have a Danish student residence permit, you should be aware that your student residence permit may be revoked by the Danish immigration authorities (SIRI). DTU is obliged to inform SIRI when non-EU/EEA students withdraw from the University. Revocation of your residence permit by SIRI means that you have to leave Denmark immediately.
