If you are enrolled in a joint program, going on exchange, or taking courses outside DTU, you must apply for special exam conditions at the institution in which you are taking the courses.

Exams at DTU are arranged either by (1) the Study Administration or (2) the course manager/lecturer.
- If the Study Administration plans the exam, your special conditions are automatically applied, and you do not need to contact the course manager/lecturer.
Exams listed in the Exam Schedule (www.eksamensplan.dtu.dk) are always administered by the Study Administration. These are typically the regular written exams.
- If the course manager/lecturer arranges the exam, you must inform them of your special exam conditions well in advance. Remember to present your decision letter as documentation.
The course manager/lecturer typically manages minor written tests during the semester as well as oral exams and a few written exams during the exam period.

Questions regarding permission to use a computer and headphones for text-to-speech
Since you have signed a solemn declaration regarding use of your computer, you may bring your computer to all exams without having to delete programs, notes, etc.
However, programs and notes may only be opened/used if they are permitted according to the course description.

- You may use specific IT support programmes approved by the Danish Agency for Education and Quality based on documented functional impairment (e.g., AppWriter or IntoWords).
- For exams with written aids allowed, you may bring and use any written aids permitted in the course description in digital form on your computer. Remember to download the aids in advance for exams without internet.
- For exams without aids, you may have books and notes stored on your computer, but you may not use them.
- Speech-recognition programmes are not permitted because their use would disturb other examinees.

There are two options for ordering the exam assignment on a USB flash drive for non-digital exams:
- If the Study Administration is responsible for arranging the exam, you must order the assignment on USB drive by completing this form with information about course name and course number.
The deadline for ordering is stated on student.dtu.dk.
- If the exam is arranged by the lecturer/course manager, you must contact them well in advance and request to have the exam assignment provided on a USB drive.
Remember to show your decision letter regarding special exam conditions as documentation.
We recommend that you check your exam formats at the start of each semester so you can apply for a USB flash before the deadline if needed.
Yes, you may use Bluetooth headphones.
No, you may only use your headphones for listening to text-to-speech. You must have special approval to listen to music, which requires additional documentation.
Questions regarding permission for headphones for music/noise cancelling
Yes, you may use Bluetooth headphones.
This depends on the exam format:
- For exams with NO aids or with WRITTEN aids, you may use a music player without internet access (e.g., an iPod or an MP3 player).
- For exams with ALL aids, with or without internet access, you may use either a music player without internet access (e.g., iPod/MP3 player) or your computer.
Music files must be downloaded beforehand onto the device.
You may not use your mobile phone to play music.
