As a student at DTU, you must have a valid student ID card.
Your student ID card is your:
- proof of identity for exams, contact with the Student Administration Office and on campus.
- access card to DTU buildings outside regular opening hours.
- card is your access card to DTU's data bars.
Your student ID card is personal, and you may not pass it on to others.
How to order a student ID card
For new students:
- Upload a picture of yourself to DTUBasen (DTU's register of all students and employees at DTU). You log in to the page with the same login information you use for DTU's other digital platforms.
- Once you upload your picture to DTU Basen, the card will be automatically initiated for you.
- When the card is ready, it will be sent to your registered address. If you have a foreign address, you will receive an email in your student email about where you can pick up your student ID card
For current students:
- Order your student ID card via the 'Cardadmin' page. You log in to the page with your DTU-login.
- When the card is ready, it will be sent to your registered address. If you have a foreign address, you will receive an email in your student email about where you can pick up your student ID card.
Please note, that your student ID card is personal, and you may not pass it on to others.
Have you lost your student ID card?
If you lose your student ID card, you must deactivate it and order a new one from the 'Cardadmin' page.
If your student card expires or breaks, you will need to order a new one. You can only order a new card from the 'Cardadmin' page if your original card has been activated.
If you have lost your card and it has not yet been activated, you must write to cardadmin@dtu.dk and ask them to issue you with a new card for you. The same applies if the card has not arrived in the post after a long period of time and is presumed lost.
