DTU Verification Team

DTU’s Verification Team handles verification of former and current students. Situations where verification is needed may be:

  • Former students who need a copy of their diploma or an academic transcript
  • Employer or recruitment agency that needs to verify an applicant’s education
  • Current students who need documentation of enrollment for a housing association

In general, please be aware that verification of older educations may take longer to process, and you may therefore in some cases expect up to four weeks of processing time.

For verification of newer or ongoing educations, the processing time will be significantly shorter.

Verification of former students

As a general rule, DTU’s archives cover the past 30 years, but in many cases our records go as far back as 1970. In order for us to locate the relevant documents, we need the following information:

  • Full name of the former student – in the case of a later name change, we need the original name
  • Date of birth
  • Name of the study programme
  • End date of the programme – preferably date, month, and year

As a rule, we will send copies of educational document(s) via e-Boks, as they contain sensitive personal data in the form of a CPR number. If you wish the documents to be sent to an email address instead, we ask that you complete our consent form and send it together with your inquiry.

Verification of a job applicant’s education

In order for us to confirm or deny information about a former DTU student to a third party, you must include a signed power of attorney from the student. In addition, we must at minimum have the following information:

  • Full name of the former student – in the case of a later name change, we need the original name
  • Date of birth
  • Name of the study programme
  • End date of the programme – preferably date, month, and year

Verification of current education

As a general rule, you must contact us via your student email, as this allows us to return a signed and stamped enrollment confirmation directly by email. If you write from a private email address, we will send the enrollment confirmation via e-Boks, and in this case you must provide your student number.

If you do not have e-Boks and also do not have access to your student email, you must complete our consent form and send it to us. We will then send the enrollment confirmation to your private email, but without a CPR number.
