About the programme specification
The MMT program provides participants with a comprehensive theoretical, methodological, and practical knowledge about management and leadership in both private and public companies and organizations, with particular emphasis on value creation. The MMT program aims to develop leaders that create value for business and society through innovation thinking. The objectives of the program are to:
- Provide theories, concepts, frameworks, and tools of various management disciplines
- Provide methodology for conducting business research and consultancy projects
- Enable practice of application of managerial theories, concepts, frameworks, and tools on real consultancy assignments in Denmark and globally
- Enable excellence in leading for innovation and managing innovation processes
- Enable development of an individual’s personal leadership skills
- Provide mechanisms and environment for value creating interaction between participants, faculty, and private and public organizations
Duration
The MMT program is a part time program delivered over a two-year period in in four semesters.
General admission requirements
Admission to a master’s programme is subject to the applicant having completed at least:
• A relevant bachelor programme
• A relevant professional bachelor’s programme
• A relevant medium-cycle higher education study programme
• A relevant diploma programme completed as a regulated course of study
• A relevant foreign study programme at the same level
The curriculum for each part-time master’s programme specifies the specific bachelor programmes that give applicants direct admission to the study programme.
In accordance with the admission requirements for the part-time master’s programme, applicants must - in addition to a qualifying degree - have minimum two years of relevant work experience after having taken the qualifying degree. The curriculum for each part-time master’s programme specifies the requirements made for the applicant’s work experience.

Admission requirements
The EMBA program are intellectually demanding and candidates are required to quickly absorb and analyze new material and apply it in a fast-moving environment. The School assesses whether the candidate has the ability to rise to the intellectual challenges the EMBA presents. Three main criteria are used to assess intellectual ability: academic qualifications; admission interview and an admissions essay. Candidates are required to have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum five years appropriate and relevant postgraduate work experience
- Minimum three years leadership/ management experience from business line or project management
- Demonstrated Intellectual ability during admission interview
- Mature attitude to be member of an exec.MBA class eg. reflection on personal achievements, goals etc.(Essay)
Admission with Credit
The MMT policy with regards to admission with credit follows AMBA requirements i.e., advanced standing and / or exemptions in any form is not encouraged, and, exceptionally, will be limited to no more than 20 percent of the course of study. This can be increased to 33 percent for participants from an accredited EMBA program. Additionally, no more than 20 percent of a participant cohort may be admitted with any level of credit, advanced standing and exemptions. Where credit, advanced standing and exemptions are awarded, the participants must be able to demonstrate that any learning undertaken prior to enrolment on the EMBA program, either within the school or elsewhere, is at Masters level and is comparable to that offered to participants admitted directly onto the program. Any prior learning for which credit, advanced standing and exemptions are awarded must have been acquired no later than five years before enrolment to the EMBA program.

Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to:

Curriculum
The MMT program is a part time program delivered over a two-year period in in four semesters. The actual duration is 21 months. The distribution of courses over semesters is given in the table below followed by brief descriptions.

Curriculum, previous admission years
Master thesis
Master Project, 15 ETCS: The Master Project is the main activity on the fourth semester. It pursues the following objectives: To demonstrate capability in conducting analyses covering several business disciplines as well as the ability to integrate such disciplines into a coherent form and to demonstrate an ability to reach and present well-grounded proposals that should lead to implementable solutions. The Master Project will concern an important or urgent strategic business problem that involves specific functions or processes within the organization. Consequently, the Master Project will treat a central business problem of a strategic nature in a thorough and well argued, cross disciplinary and action-oriented way. The Master Project should demonstrate the author’s breadth of view regarding the ability to arrive at well-grounded proposals for management actions concerning cross-disciplinary and cross-organizational business problems.

Rules for teaching
Exam rules
Each course/study element is concluded with an assessment. General rules on forms of assessment, pass requirements, part exams, etc. are laid down in the - Rules and regulations, chapter 3 ‘Exam rules’. The course description contains:
• Exam form, including any part exams during the course
• Forms of assessment, including exams with internal examiner or external examiner, 7-point grading scale, or ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’
The assessment ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’ can only be used for exams accounting for up to one third of the ECTS credits for the study programme.
Credit transfers and exemptions
Credit transfers
It is not possible to transfer ECTS points obtained at other educations to the MMT.
Exemptions
If, for example, a student fails to meet the deadlines specified in the programme specification or fail in the third exam attempt on a mandatory course, the student in question may only continue his or her studies if an exemption is granted. DTU’s credit transfer and exemption committee may grant an exemption from the programme specification rules, including curriculum, course descriptions, and DTU’s rules and regulations, provided that the exemption is not contrary to the ministerial orders of the Danish Ministry of Education.
An application for exemption must be submitted electronically via the exemption database: https://www.dispensation.dtu.dk/overview. The Office for Study Programmes and Student Affairs will obtain a recommendation from the Head of Studies for the study programme for each application.
