Appeal guidance
The decision can be referred to The Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science if the appeal concerns legal issues. The deadline for submission of an appeal is two weeks from the day the decision is announced to you.
The appeal must be submitted to DTU, the Office for Study Programmes and Student Affairs via studiedispensation@adm.dtu.dk. ’State Appeal regarding exemption decision’ in the subject line. Also include the case number of the exemption decision being appealed.
When DTU receives an appeal about a decision, a reassessment of the decision is made based on the information you have provided in the appeal. In this connection, DTU may decide to reopen the case if the appeal contains information that has significant importance to the case, or if significant case-handling errors have occurred in the original processing of the case.
If DTU chooses to maintain the original decision, DTU will prepare a statement about the decision and your appeal. The statement will be sent to you, so you have the opportunity to comment on it. Finally, the entire case will be sent to the Agency for their consideration. You will at some point receive a receipt from the Agency on receipt of your appeal.
An appeal to the Agency usually does not have a suspensive effect on the decision that has been made. If the consequence in your original decision is that your enrolment at DTU will be terminated, this decision will still apply while the Agency is processing your complaint.
