Who can receive special educational support, SPS?

As a student, you are eligible for special educational support if you have documentation for one or more of the following disabilities:

• Dyslexia (literacy problems)
• Psychological diagnoses
• Neurological diagnoses
• Visual impairment
• Hearing impairment
• Physical disability
• Chronic or serious illness
• Dyscalculia (mathematical disability)

Assessment and test

In principle, you are only eligible for SPS if you have a documented impairment. However, temporary SPS may be granted if you have a referral for an assessment or are currently undergoing assessment for a mental health condition (such as ADHD or autism)—the referral must specify the suspected diagnosis.

A test may also be granted if there is a substantiated suspicion of dyslexia and/or dyscalculia.

General terms for receiving SPS

• You must suffer from an impairment that prevents you from completing your study programme on equal terms with other students.
• You must be a full-degree student with documented disability,
• You must be a Danish citizen, be covered by an international agreement like, for example EU or EEA citizen, or rank alongside a Danish citizen.
