This-for-that foundation
Are you and your fellow students using worn furniture? Does your Friday bar need a makeover? In collaboration with Polyteknisk Forening (PF student association), DTU has set up a ‘This-for-that foundation’ from which all students may apply for funds to improve their local study environment.
The students acquire greater influence on their study environment
The ‘Quid-Pro-Quo Fund’ has been set up to allow you and your fellow students to develop your local study environment. No one knows better than you what can improve the study environment in your study programme and at DTU in general. You will, therefore, also decide what the money in the fund will be used for.
Less money for cleaning and maintenance, more money for the study environment
Students have many specific wishes for improving of the day-to-day physical settings at DTU. The fund may help finance these wishes. Funds are obtained via saved costs for extra cleaning and maintenance in connection with student events held on the University’s premises, both inside and outside.
When students look after the University’s premises and facilities and help keep the need for cleaning and maintenance down; for example, after parties or other student events, the saved expenses for extra cleaning and maintenance are included in the fund.
The money may then instead be used by the students to finance purchases of new furniture, painting of walls, etc., in their local study environment, for example, in cafés, lounge areas, and student workshops. That is quid pro quo (something for something).
