ROCKWOOL-collaboration
How might we create new acoustic solutions with recycled ROCKWOOL?
ROCKWOOL A/S are one of the world’s leading providers of stone wool-based solutions and is especially known for their insulation products, but they also have different acoustic solutions under the brand Rockfon
Many projects in the construction industry generate leftover and off-cuts that are being collected and recycled in new insulation batches, but what if we could utilize insulation material as sound absorber in a music festival setting, without heating it up again?
We would like DTU-students to define relevant use contexts at Roskilde Festival, develop ideas for potential acoustic solutions and experiment with integration of ROCKWOOL in these as well as design prototypes that you will test and assess the performance of in terms of criteria that you decide.

How might we create new water management solutions with ROCKWOOL?
ROCKWOOL A/S are one of the world’s leading providers of stone wool-based solutions and is especially known for their insulation products, but they also have climate adaptation solutions under the brand Rockflow.
Rockflow’s stone wool elements offer sustainable solutions for capture, retention and infiltration of rainwater. This prevents local flooding above ground as well as contributing to restoring the natural water balance under the ground. How can such stone wool elements be utilized for e.g. drainage, greening or cleaning in a music festival setting, where rainfall events risks affecting guests experiences very negatively?
