DTU student email
All students at DTU have a DTU student email with the address: s[study number]@student.dtu.dk – e.g.: s119999@student.dtu.dk
All written communication from DTU to you takes place via your student mail. This can be in connection with course registration, exam registration, decisions on e.g. exam complaints, messages about exemption and credit transfer, etc. It is therefore important that you keep an eye on messages sent to your student email.
When you want to contact DTU yourself - your teacher, the Study Information or others - you must also always use your DTU student email. The only exception is if you contact the Study Guidance Office. You must be able to contact the Study Guidance Office completely anonymously.
Your DTU student email is both your and DTU's guarantee that emails will be sent to and from you and no one else.
DTU freely provides students at DTU access to Office 365 including OneDrive online storage and the option of downloading the Office Suite.
FAQ
Sometimes the values of the internal Outlook mail recipient cache gets corrupted for reasons unknown.
This will cause Outlook to send to a non-existent mail recipient. The mail will not be delivered and you will receive a Non Delivery Report (NDR).
The NDR will contain the text
'IMCEAX-_O=DTU_OU=EXCHANGE+20ADMINISTRATI...'
How to resolve the error
- Write a new mail and in the 'TO' field start writing the name of the person you cannot send to.
- Outlook will suggest one or more persons.
- Press DELETE to delete all suggestions.
- Now Outlook will be able to send to the person again.
Former students should not use the student mail service.
Instead AIT can help moving the mailbox to the mail service system serving the employees at DTU.
