Study planner - guide

The Study Planner is the tool you must use to plan your studies, register and withdraw from courses. Here's a guide to the main features of the Study Planner.

How to register for courses

1. Find the course and put it in the course basket

  • Use the 'Find course' button under the course basket
  • Search for the course (you can use either course number or course name) and click on the basket symbol next to the correct course. Click on the cross in the upper corner to close the search module again.

2. Place the course in the semester you would like to take it

  • With the mouse, you can drag the course from the course basket onto the semester in which you want to take it. If the semester is grey and you cannot enter the course, it is because the course is not offered in that semester.

3. Register for the course

  • Register for the course by clicking on the red 'Register/withdraw button'. The button is activated only when you have completed the study plan, as described above.
  • Press 'Continue' in the pop-up window to confirm your registration. Choose to receive a receipt for your registration.
  • If a tick is next to the course in your study plan, you are registered.

What if the registration is rejected?

  • If the registration is rejected, it may be because you are trying to register for a course that you are not permitted to take, either because it is not part of your study plan or because you exceed the number of permitted courses in a specific category or because the course is full and have no more available seats.
  • If the registration is rejected due to an error, the Study Administration can help you.

Tip! You can use the 'Show schedule' button (the nine small dots) to check that your courses do not overlap.

Tip! If you click on the white square to the right of the course number, you can colour code your courses and thus track whether you have the correct number of ECTS credits in the proper categories.

Tip! Under the course basket, you can click on 'Show course type distribution'. Here you can check how many ECTS credits you have and how many ECTS credits you lack in the various categories.

Until you reach the semester where you have to do a project course, a final project or an internship, you can create a temporary 'placeholder' in your study plan.

  • Under the course basket, select 'Create', choose the suitable activity type and give the activity a name, e.g. 'Internship' and give the activity the correct number of ECTS credits.
  • Press 'Save', and you can now drag your placeholder over to the correct semester. That is only a placeholder and not a registration.
  • When the correct registration has to be made, your supervisor on the project course/project/internship must make a report in the project reporting system.
  • The Study Administration will then register it, and you will now be able to see it in your study plan. Remember to delete your temporary placeholder when the correct registration has gone through.

Please note that pre-approved credit transfer cannot be viewed in the Study Planner. The credit transfer can only be seen in the study plan when you have applied for a final credit transfer.

How to withdraw from courses

  • You withdraw from a course by first clicking on the small cross to the right of the course.

  • Now you will see a line appearing across the course.

  • Then click on the red 'Register/Withdraw button'.

  • Press 'Continue' in the pop-up window to confirm your withdrawal.

  • Choose to receive a receipt for your withdrawal.

  • Remember to check that the course is no longer in your study plan. Then you are sure that you have been withdrawn correctly.

Check your study plan for errors

Remember that the Study Planner does not check for errors in your study plan. It is your responsibility to ensure that you include the correct courses in your study plan.
