Become a day guide for a prospective student

Would you like to present your study programme to prospective students? DTU Study Guidence is looking for day guides to show upper secondary school students around DTU and give them an impression of student life at DTU. During the visit you will recieve a voucher for a sandwich and a soft drink, and after each visit you will receive two cinema tickets.

The DTU has a day guide scheme, where potential students (upper secondary school students, etc.) can accompany a DTU student during a normal day at the university.

As a day guide, you will show the high school student around DTU and take him or her to lectures and other activities.

You will be given a sandwich and a soft drink voucher to enjoy at S-Huset.

Who can become a day guide?

To become a day guide, you must be in the first half of your studies, have a good knowledge of DTU, be presentable and friendly, and have the time and desire to present your studies a few times each semester.

It is up to you to decide how often and on which days you would like to receive visitors.

What do day guides do with their visitors?

Your role as a day guide is to present a typical day in your studies, to give the Student for a Day an impression of what it means to study at DTU. Talk about your study programme and your thoughts about studying at DTU.

The day could include lectures, group work, tutorials and exercises. It is also a good idea to show them around the campus and visit S-huset, a student dormitory, and sports and club facilities.

You should also stop by the Student Advisory Office during the day, where you and your visitor will receive vouchers for sandwiches and soft drinks, which can be used in the DTU cafeteria, S-huset or building 306. The visitor will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive information material about the study programmes at DTU.

How does the day guide programme work?

Prospective students register as a student for a day at dtu.dk. If we have a visitor for you, we will contact you at studerendeforendag.dtu.dk

You must contact the visitor directly and arrange a date for the visit that suits both of you. Remember to choose a day that is representative of your study programme.

When the visit is over, close it at studerendeforendag.dtu.dk. You can then go to Study Guidance Office to receive two cinema tickets for your help.

Remember to check studerendeforendag.dtu.dk regularly.

Once you have registered, you will be required to attend a short briefing at the Study Guidance Office so that you are well prepared to receive your first visitor.
