Apply to take MSc courses in transitional semester

If you are missing 55 ECTS credits or less from your BEng or BSc programme, you can apply to take MSc courses that will apply to your subsequent MSc programme at DTU.

Please note that from the academic year 2025/2026, effective from 1 September 2025, the requirements are changed so that you need 25 ECTS credits or less on your BEng og BSc programme to be approved for a transition semester.

Prerequisites for applying to take MSc courses in transitional semester

  • You must lack 55 ECT credits or less (25 ECTS credits applicable from 1 September 2025) on your BEng or BSc programme at DTU.
  • You can only apply to take courses that are part of the MSc programme you want to apply for when you have completed your BEng or BSc programme.
  • You must meet the admission requirements and academic prerequisites for admission into the MSc programme in question.
  • You must complete your courses or final project on your current BEng or BSc programme at the same time as you complete courses on the upcoming MSc programme.
  • The transfer to the MSc programme must not result in an extension of the period of study for your BSc Eng/BEng programme beyond the maximum duration of the programme.

Please note that you cannot be given an exemption to take a total of more than 30 ECTS credits, regardless of how many semesters you follow the transitional procedure
