If you have a chronic or severe illness
In the case of chronic or severe illness, there may be consequences of the illness that create a need for support in managing student life. These consequences may result in the following challenges:
- Increased absence due to medical treatments.
- Difficulty concentrating.
- Challenges in gaining an overview, structuring tasks, and setting priorities.
- Managing and allocating your time effectively.
Types of support
As a student with a chronic or severe illness, you may be eligible to receive the following support:
- Academic support teacher
Typically, a teacher from your field of study. Academic support sessions can be used to review course material and help develop learning strategies that support your academic progress. - Assistive devices
Depending on your situation, you can apply for an assistive device assessment, specific assistive devices, and instruction on how to use them. - Secretary assistance
Depending on your needs, you may apply for secretary help, for example, note-taking during lectures.
