About Special Educational Support (SPS)
The SPS scheme is a government-funded support program granted by the Danish Agency for Education and Quality (STUK). At DTU, the SPS unit acts as your administrative coordinator for the scheme. We apply for SPS on your behalf and initiate support through relevant providers.
For some students, support is needed continuously throughout the entire study programme, while for others, the need may change over time.
There are no specific deadlines for applying for SPS, as applications are accepted year-round. However, please be aware that processing times may apply
Read more about the SPS scheme on STUK’s website (only in Danish).
You must inform DTU about your need for SPS
The SPS unit at DTU is not automatically notified of your need for support. If you require SPS in connection with your studies, you must contact the SPS unit at DTU yourself – even if you have previously received support at another educational institution.
Special examination conditions
SPS does not automatically grant approval for special examination conditions. You must apply for this through DTU’s SPS portal.

Confidentiality
We are bound by confidentiality and will not share information with your department, head of studies, or lecturers without your consent. Furthermore, it will not be indicated on your diploma if you have received Special Educational Support during your studies.
